Polytetrafluoroethylene / Teflon / PTFE rod
PTFE, or polytetrafluoroethylene or Teflon, is a plastic material that is highly resistant to heat and chemicals.
It also has excellent sliding properties and very good electrical resistance, making it a great option for a variety of applications.
PTFE’s non-stick surface is another advantage, as it helps prevent adhesion and allows for easy release of materials.
However, it is important to note that PTFE has low mechanical strength and stiffness, which limits its use to applications where high temperatures (from -200 °C to +260 °C) and contact with chemicals are expected.
Despite these limitations, PTFE remains a highly versatile material that can be used in a variety of industries.
